Rally Foreword
This year sees a return to an old fashioned format with the route instructions for the whole event being issued at the first control. With plenty of time for plotting no-one should have difficulty finding the route, however, for those who aren’t so sure with the maps, we are offering an alternative method. You can either plot the route onto your map, using the grid references provided as usual, or, for those more used to endurance events, you can follow the endurance style tulip diagrams and mileages. You should even be able to complete the route without a map if that’s your preference, though we would suggest that you take one in case of emergencies.
The overall mileage will be approximately 130 and the route will traverse approximately 10 miles of un-surfaced roads. A sump guard is therefore recommended.
Finally, as usual, we will need a large number of marshals and we are relying on you, the competitors, to bring along friends, enemies or relatives to fill the roles. Marshals manning controls in the later sections of the event will receive a free breakfast and all marshals will receive excellent goody bags and spectator information which will not be otherwise available.
We look forward to seeing you on the 10th and 11th, whether as a competitor or as a marshal.
Good luck
