Stockport 061 Motor Club was formed on 1 January 2007, from Stockport Motor Club and High Peak & 061 Motor Club.

The club is affiliated to the Motor Sports Association and is a member of a number of Regional Associations. We are also a founding member of Motor Sport (North West) Ltd. which pools the resources of several motor clubs in the North West of England to promote stage rallies, the proceeds of which go to charitable causes.

The Club help to organise numerous motor sport events including our own highly successful stage rally, previously held at Anglesey Racing Circuit and Caernarfon Airfield, where we were the first Motor Club to hold an event, in 2003, we ventured to Weeton Army Camp and have been there since.

Our competing members have achieved, and are achieving, great success as drivers and co-drivers in all levels of competition in this country and throughout the world. They utilise cars ranging from the immensely successful Escorts and Sunbeams to the latest four wheel drive, turbocharged World Rally Cars.

The Club is extensively involved in officiating, timekeeping and marshalling on numerous motor sport events around the country, which includes Club rallies, National and International rallies as well as the Wales Rally GB.

Stockport Motor Club was founded in 1903 as The New Stockport & District Motor Cycle & Light Car Club and is the third oldest motor club in the country.
